An evangelist or preacher is a proclaimer of the good news of Jesus Christ (2 Timothy 4:1-5; Eph 4:11). In assemblies of worship, the classroom, and private settings, the goal of a minister of the gospel is to lead both Christians and seekers in Bible study and application. To do the work of an evangelist (2 Timothy 4:5) is to declare the whole counsel of God (Acts 20:27), to proclaim the “good news” of the kingdom of heaven (Acts 28:30-31), and to speak the truth in love (Eph 4:15).
Bill White has been working as an evangelist at the Hammond church of Christ since April 2009. In April 2009, two nearby local congregations, the Hessville church of Christ and the Woodmar church of Christ, merged together and are now referred to as the Hammond church of Christ. For years before the merger, Bill worked as an evangelist with the Hessville church of Christ.
